EDUCATION SYSTEM IN INDIA PRESENT Role of technology in present day education Teachers can share ideas, lesson plans and teaching methods via the internet Technology gives students immediate access to an abundance of information Many resourceful , credible websites are available for both teachers and students Few examples are, Interactive whiteboards or mobile devices, such as iPads and/or tablets, can be used in the classroom for students to record results, take photos/videos 18 Present education has taken on a whole new dimension over the past few decades with the advent of technology

TEACHING STRATEGIES IN PRESENT EDUCATION SYSTEM 19 Cross over Teaching Teaching through collaboration Pupils engage in collaborative learning They capitalize on one another's resources and skills, asking one another for information, evaluating one another's ideas, monitoring one another's work, etc . The teacher can link the educational content with the experiences of the students Children collect photos, take down notes, or asking other people for their thoughts, go on field trips and so on.

AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT IN PRESENT EDUCATION SYSTEM Rote learning -Emphasis on memorizing the facts Completely relying on textbooks - Students have no freedom to think creatively Practical applications in life - Students are not being taught why they are learning particular subjects and topic Mere degree Qualification makes them disqualify in interview Moral values are not taught in current education N o idea about the cultural values and the importance of society. 20
