1. 1.- Julia is going to make a cake for her husband tonight. It is going to be a
surprise party for him. Julia invited his co-workers yesterday to accompany her
husband on his birthday. Julia’s husband suffered a traumatic event last year:
he was kidnaped and released a month later. Julia had to pay a ransom to
have her husband back.

2.- Lee is going to buy food for tomorrow. She is planning to do it at Walmart.
This shop is expensive. Lee likes to shop at Ley because it has better fruit and
vegetables. Two days ago, Lee bought three apples, a pineapple, bananas and
grapes at Ley. Her children had a sleepover and Lee bought fruit for them. She
didn’t want them to have junk food like pizza or hamburgers.

3.- Last week, Winnie and Edward decided to retire next year. They started as
doctors at San Francisco Medical Center forty years ago. They had wonderful
careers. Their patients liked them because they were always empathic with
them. All those years, Winnie worked with children because she is a
pediatrician. Edward worked with old people because he is a geriatrician.

4.- Harrison and Nash were best friends in college. But they took very different
paths in life. Harrison graduated as an engineer. Nash started to have bad
friends. Friends that took drugs and drank alcohol heavily. Right now, their life
styles look quite different. Harrison got married last month. Nash was
admitted at a rehabilitation center two days ago. His kidneys started to fail.

5.- Blake moved in with Kate a month ago. They didn’t need a marriage
certificate to do it. It wasn’t important for them; that’s why their parents got a
bit disappointed. Things in life should run in a right way. We should do correct
things. One of those is to do things legally. Living together without being
married isn’t legal.
