JOHN 6:5 ---- WHAT`S THE OVERWHELMING NEED?
5 POINTS TO EXPRESS GENUINE THANKS IN THE FACE OF OVERWHELMING NEEDS
1. Do not Panic Signs of a panic attack include: C Chest pain Chills. Choking or smothering sensation. Difficulty breathing. Fear of losing control. Feeling like you’re going to die. Intense feeling of terror. Nausea . Racing heart. Sweating. Tingling or numbness in fingers or toes. Trembling or shaking.
VERSES FOR ANXIETY Mattews 6:27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Psalm 34:17 The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. Psalm 55:22 Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. Psalm 37:5 Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.
2. Throw away your safety nets ( John 6:6) 1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
3. Keep your eye on the Lord (J ohn 7:7-9) If NOT, Romans 1:21-23)
4. Choose to thank God for all things John 6:11 Jesus took the inadequate resources of foods-and gave thanks to God (it was a choice) 2 Miracles resulted: =12 baskets left with the 5 barley loaves = Miracle of understanding (it became a history of an example of great faith (John 6:23) Armed with a deep, fulfilling relationship with God, the disciples realized they could thank God for everything-even needs that were overwhelming or unmet-just like Jesus had demontrated
5. Do it together The people closest to Jesus were His disciples. They were His friends and intimate companions. It would have been easy for Him to have acted quickly to remove all anxiety from their hearts - but He didn't. He asked questions and moved deliberately to train their hearts to be grateful at all times. They were learning together. Some lessons can be mastered alone. Other lessons are learned in fellowship with other believers. When I have to learn a new lesson that's one thing. But to walk with my family through a real-life application of His teaching is not always easy. In my desire to meet the needs in my home, my tendency is to rescue my kids from experiencing difficulty.
Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Psalm 112:1-2 Nothing is more important to parents and grandparents than their children’s and grandchildren’s salvation and well-being. These verses encourage me so much and they continually move me to pray for my descendants. No matter what our children are going through, remember that God’s got everything in His hand. Keep praying and trusting him for your family and loved ones.
