COLOSSIANS 4:2-4 THE CHRISTIAN PRAYER

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.” COLLOSSIANS 2:2-4

How often do you pray?

How passionate are you in praying?

Do you only pray when you ask for something?

Pray with Persistence

Colossians 4:1 “ Devote yourselves to prayer , being watchful and thankful.” Pray with Persistence This verse is given as an imperative or a command .

Luke 11:5-8 Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’

Luke 11:5-8 And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’

Luke 11:5-8 I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.”

The Parable of the Persistent Widow Luke 18:1-8

Why did Jesus always prayed with passion? He knew Who it was He was talking to. He knew that prayer to the Father is a powerful thing and not something to take lightly and glibly.

We cannot really be a good Christian and not pray. We can be a Christian and not pray but we will be miserable. Prayer is the way of communication between God and His people, between God and those who love Him.

We sometimes took for granted praying. Praying is an important part of Christians. We should pray with persistence, with passion, with thanksgiving, and making intercession.
