3. Temperature is the measure of how hot or cold something is. Can you think of some reasons we would need to measure temperature?

4. Temperature can be measured with a thermometer. Temperature is measured in degrees.

5. Temperature is measured in degrees. The United States measures degrees in Fahrenheit (˚F). Most countries around the world measure degrees in Celsius (˚C).

6. The red liquid inside a thermometer is mercury. When the bar is closer to the top, it is hotter. When the bar is closer to the bottom, it is colder.
