INTRODUCTION Inception document – It’s help to search the potential to promote group which will help the federation for sustainability. SH G –Primary Producer group (Focus on female empowerment). In 1991-92 NABARD started promoting self- help group on large scale. 1993 RBI allowed SHG to open savings to bank. Odisha have 536387 group. Facilitate the process of self-empowerment by overcoming social exclusion, enhancing participation in decision-making processes and improving quality of life.
OBJECTIVES To prepare an inception document for a panchayat in the assigned location. To understanding the existing status of women SHG groups. To organize the potential women self-help group in the form of SHG.
STUDY AREA Odisha State Map Odisha is in the eastern part of India. Total area of this state is 155,707 sq. km . According to the population this state is 11 th largest state in India. District - Mayurbhanj Population – 2519738 Literacy rate – 65.98 Mayurbhanj district Gopabhandhanagar block 2 26 villages within Gopabandhanagar Block. total population-123,616 Gopaband Literacy -62.38% Sex ratio - 1,023

Women empowerment and gender equality have become topics of utmost importance in the recent times, because gender inequality and its socio-economic and cultural dimensions are all pervasive in the third world as well as in the developed world. in the third world the problem of gender inequality is more acutely associated with economic disempowerment of women. Formation of the SHG, selection, concept seeding, and training for SHG members. Different types of training like beekeeping, floriculture, processing marketing etc. the purpose of solving their common problems through self-help and mutual help . Women Empowerment through Entrepreneurial Activities of Self-Help Groups. . Empowerment in the context of women’s development is a way of defining, challenging and overcoming barriers in a woman’s life through which she increases her ability to shape her life and environment. It is an active, multidimensional process, which should enable women to realize their full identity and power in all spheres of life. India envisions a future in which Indian women are independent and self-reliant. Raised literacy level could be helpful for the SHG members to overcome cognitive constraints and to understand government policies, technical understanding and gaining required skills. Middle Small business, and with that engage in different kind of work like – construction and agriculture work, two people is there for income, sometimes one’s income is not stable. monthly Income – Rs.25000 to 30000 , Agriculture land – more than 3 bigha/ man , Pacca /semi house. Poor Wage labor, carpenter, black smith, construction worker, widow, not married, Migration Agriculture land is 0 or less 3 bigha/ Man , hut/ tin house, having BPL card. monthly Income – Rs.5000 to 20000.
POVERTY CATEGORY Category Criteria S1(Survival) Widow, Aged but not married , Agri labor, Wage labor, landless, hut, only one person is earning, income is not stable. S2(Subsistence) Carpenter, Blacksmith, Construction worker. Agriculture land – 1 or 2 bigha , house type tin One earning member. S3(Self-employed) Mostly migrated people, agriculture land – 3 man/ bigha. One earning member, sometimes another one is also getting income. House type tin or tiled.
CULTURAL &ECOLOGICAL DIMENSION Main crop – Paddy (Water availability -1 times) Rainfed. 1 river Stream (15-20 K.M) Makar sankarnti , tribal new year & new year , Magha puja , Tusu , ratha jatra , raja, sabitri brata . December & January- more expenditure per family RS.1000 & taking more loans.
DEVLOPMENT ISSUES Water scarcity. Migration Alcohol& Ghutkha addiction. Inaccessible health services. Lack of Transportation services. Lack of income activities. Open defecation .

Migrated in Tamilnadau Chennai for 15 years Textile factory – labour work Because of family condition she didn't got marry . Having health issue – can’t do heavy work . No one is take care for her. Joined kalanjiam with expectation.
