Former Associate Dean of Students at Bard College
Timand Bates, an education professional with a passion for teaching and
program development, holds an M.A. in Teaching of English from Teachers
College, Columbia University, and a B.A. in Languages and Literature from
Bard College.
As the Program Manager for the Open Society University Network (OSUN),
Timand Bates successfully managed an $850k grant to provide liberal arts
courses to students at 45 global institutions, achieving substantial growth
in enrollment and faculty involvement.
His previous roles at Bard College as Associate Dean of Students and
Assistant Dean of Students saw him lead efforts in student retention,
diversity, and crisis management.
Timand Bates's teaching experience includes developing and teaching
courses for the Bard Prison Initiative and the American University of
Central Asia, focusing on innovative curricula for diverse and underserved
populations.
Timand Bates’s published works and conference presentations reflect his
commitment to enhancing educational practices and expanding global
classroom opportunities.
