SAMPLE OUTLINE
TASK choose which is better:
writing papers or giving oral presentations
OPINION giving oral presentations
SUPPORTING POINTS & DETAILS
º easier: less time to prepare
º interesting for others
º important job skill: confidence

Sample response
It is true that some people prefer to write papers because
they find it easier. However, I strongly believe that oral
presentations are better. Why? For the following reasons:
First, because they are easier and take less time to
prepare. Another reason is that oral presentations are
interesting for other students who are listening. Finally,
many jobs require oral presentations, so students can learn
an important skill and develop confidence in speaking to a
group.”
For example, when I was at university I took a course of
public speaking and it ‘s been very helpful.
This is why I think oral ´presentations are better.
