CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING SURVIVAL CRAFT a craft capable of sustaining lives of person in distress - it may be a lifeboat or a liferaft .
CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING KINDS OF SURVIVAL CRAFT are one of the most important life-saving equipment that are carried on board a ship and they can help to save lives of crew or passengers on board a ship in times of emergencies. LIFEBOATS
CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING TYPES OF LIFEBOATS As the name would suggest, these boats are open with no roof and normally require manual power using hand propelled ores in order for it to move. 1. OPEN LIFEBOATS
CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING TYPES OF LIFEBOATS Some of these boats may also come with an engine as a replacement for the hand propelled ores to allow the lifeboat to gain movement. These lifeboats usually have the tendency to collect water during rainy seasons. Also due to the fact that they do not have a roof, they cannot guarantee 100% safety for their passengers. Due to their older designs, very little safety features and stringent safety norms, these lifeboats are becoming obsolete. 1. OPEN LIFEBOATS

CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING TYPES OF LIFEBOATS 1. OPEN LIFEBOATS
CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING TYPES OF LIFEBOATS Partially enclosed lifeboats shall be provided with permanently attached rigid covers extending over not less than 20% of the length of the lifeboat from the aftermost part of the lifeboat. 2 . PARTIALLY ENCLOSED LIFEBOATS
CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING TYPES OF LIFEBOATS The lifeboat shall be fitted with a permanently attached foldable canopy which together with rigid covers completely enclose the occupants of the lifeboat in a waterproof shelter and protect them from exposure. 2 . PARTIALLY ENCLOSED LIFEBOATS

CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING TYPES OF LIFEBOATS 2 . PARTIALLY ENCLOSED LIFEBOATS
CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING TYPES OF LIFEBOATS Air in the lifeboat remains safe & breathable & the engine runs normally for a period of not less than 10 min. 3. TOTALLY ENCLOSED LIFEBOATS
CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING TYPES OF LIFEBOATS Every totally enclosed lifeboat shall be provided with a rigid watertight enclosure which completely encloses the lifeboat. 3. TOTALLY ENCLOSED LIFEBOATS
CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING TYPES OF LIFEBOATS 3. TOTALLY ENCLOSED LIFEBOATS

CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING METHODS OF LAUNCHING A LIFEBOAT Gravity davits were normally used by most ships. It uses the weight of the boat to do the work required to launch the boat over the side. 1. DAVIT LAUNCHING
CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING METHODS OF LAUNCHING A LIFEBOAT Gravity Type . This consists of two portions, the davit arm and the deck frame which forms the runway for the arm. When the boat is being lowered the davit arm travels down the runway until it reaches a fixed stop by which time the boat is clear of the ship's side and disengaged from the davit head hook or 'tusk' which takes the weight of the boat when turned in. 1. DAVIT LAUNCHING
CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING METHODS OF LAUNCHING A LIFEBOAT 1. DAVIT LAUNCHING
CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING METHODS OF LAUNCHING A LIFEBOAT is that method of launching a survival craft whereby the craft with its complement of persons and equipment on board is released and allowed to fall into the sea 2 . FREE-FALL LAUNCHING

CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING METHODS OF LAUNCHING A LIFERAFT launched liferafts are ideal supplements to slide and chute systems, providing safe evacuation for those unable to descend chutes or slides due to injury, disability or size. 1. DAVIT LAUNCHING
CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING METHODS OF LAUNCHING A LIFERAFT They can be launched from almost any type of vessel, regardless of deck height or hull shape. 1. DAVIT LAUNCHING

CROWD MANAGEMENT TRAINING METHODS OF LAUNCHING A LIFERAFT Throw overboard liferafts are designed to be used as independent units or as part of evacuation systems. They can be stored almost anywhere on racks and ramps, saving valuable deck space and causing minimal disruption to sea views which is important for passenger ships. 2 . MANUAL LAUNCHING
