Effective Communication

Objectives:
•To give the participants an opportunity to experience the
process of verbal and non-verbal communication.
•To know the importance of an effective and positive
communication.
•Participants will practice key of facilitation skills.

Activity 1:
See it in our mind’s eye

Procedures:
•Divide the participants into two groups. Let them form a straight
line.
•Facilitator will show to the first 2 participants the picture. The 1
st

2 participants will have to draw the picture shown to them at the
back of the person in front of them. And so on to the next
participants.
•The last 2 participants will have to draw on the board the picture.
•Then the facilitator will now check if the message on the board is
the same message as the one she/he had drawn on the back of
the last participant.

Activity 2:
Give me what you got!!!

Procedures / Instruction
•Same group. Let them form a straight line.
•Facilitator will tell the message to the first participant and the 1

participant will relay the message to next participant and so
on.Then the last participant will draw the message received on the
board.
•Then the facilitator will now check if the message on the board is
the same message as the one she/he had drawn on the back of
the last participant.

Key points
•Sender
The sender sends messages through a medium directed to an intended
receiver. In this case it would be you. You ,as a sender will start the
communication .
•Message
A communication sent from one person to another
•Receiver
Is the target public of a messages. They are the end goal of the first three
parts of the communication process. The receiver also indicates whether the
communication process is successful or not.
•Feedback
The receiver accepts the messages and understand it ,he or she sends back
a message to the initial sender. Thus the sender becomes aware of the initial
message’s effect and thus finds a better position to improve the
communication process

Synthesis
•Mahalagang tandaan na ang positibo at epektibong pakikipag-
ugnayan ay isa sa mahalagang sangkap para makatulong sa
kabataan na maharap ang mga “challenges” na kanyang
dinadaan.Mahalagang matutunan at mapraktis ng kabataan
ang epektibong pakikipagugnayan.
•Ang mahusay at epektibong komunikasyon ay ang unang
hakbang upang matulungan ang mga kabataang makamtan
ang malusog na pag-unlad at kalusugang sekswal.

Synthesis
•Ang mahusay at pagsasabuhay ng epektibong
pakikinig ang magiging gabay tungo sa epektibo
at positibong pakikipag-ugnayan sa ibang tao na
ating nakakasaalamuha sa ating paligid.
