Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)
Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is defined as a mental disorder in which an
individual has a pervasive pattern of grandiosity . . . lack of empathy, [is] self
centered and require the admiration of others (Lyons, C., Martin, B., 2014, pg. 206).
Although Narcissism has it own symptoms, it has similarities with other disorders
such as disregard of others, instability in relationships, tend to be emotional and
attention seeking, and exaggerate self importance. Though the exact cause of this

While most people would clearly be aware of the fact that they have to wait in line
(as most individuals do) in order to pay for their items and be on their way, a
narcissists would disagree. This is because Narcissist as talked about the Abnormal
Psychology book, . . . do not care to wait in line or take their turn: they expect
special privileges because of their obvious superiority to others (Lyons, C., Martin,
B., 2014, pg. 206). They believe and view themselves as priority regardless of their
location or circumstance. In their minds limits, exclusions, the word no, or off
limits does not apply to them simply because of their apparent superiority to others.

relationships, whether family, social, or acquaintance. Narcissist view others as
means to their ends, because of their perspective they do not feel empathy and use
others for their own gains. Which is why often times, they will surround themselves
with individuals that will feed their ego due to that, they always want, look for, and
