ENGLISH 10 QUARTER 3, MODULE 5, LESSON 2

The students shall be divided into four groups. Each group will be given strips (Persuasive, Informative and Argumentative). Each question shall be represented by group members and post answers on the designated areas in the chalk board.

1. It is given for the purpose of providing information about a topic to the audience.

2. It gives the audience a new understanding of some topics which they might be familiar.

3. It uses descriptive language and creative thinking.

4. It provides opportunity to convince someone to adopt a particular viewpoint.

5. It uses thought provoking, daring and clear opinion.

6. It is very common in ad campaign where marketing wants you to buy something.

7. It tries to convince the reader’s minds by convincing her/him to agree with the writer’s point of view.

8. It presents arguments about both sides of the issue.

At the end of the lesson the students will be able to: 1. Discuss informative, persuasive and argumentative text. 2. Use a variety of informative, persuasive and argumentative writing techniques . 3. Deliver creatively the informative, persuasive and argumentative texts given.

Group 1:   Prepare to present a very short talk show with the given informative text. Group 2:   The group will choose one representative to present a persuasive speech. Each member will make a prompter for the presenter for easier to deliver.   Group 3: The group will present the prepared debate to the class.

GROUP PRESENTATION

Make a persuasive, informative or argumentative text of your own. One or two paragraph will do. Submit it on Monday. Write in a one short bond paper.
