Using the Writing Center The UWC is a peer-consultation resource There are several types of consultations: Face-to-face Phone Online chat Whatever works best for you… It is important to remember that these meetings can take place at any stage in the writing process, from brainstorming to final editing
Make an Appointment Once a type of consultation has been decided on, the next step is to make an appointment Students may schedule appointments through TutorTrac or by phone Once an appointment has been made, students participate in an individualized 30-minute or 60-minute meeting with a trained writing consultant (Small group appointments are also available ) Students can make an appointment or drop in any time they are open Make sure to bring details about the assignment along with notes and any drafts Important note * If you miss 3 appointments, you will be locked out for any future appointments! So manage your time wisely.
