hat is the “self”?
refers to the individual's sense of
identity, agency, and subjective
experience of being. It encompasses
one's perceptions, beliefs, emotions,
memories, and intentions that
contribute to a distinct sense of
personal identity and continuity over
time.

The self is not a fixed identity but rather
a mold that can be shaped and influence
by your surroundings.

The self also plays a crucial role in shaping behavior and
decision-making processes. It serves as a lens through
which individuals interpret and make sense of the world
around them, influencing their attitudes, values, and goals.

Self-reflection allows individuals to develop a
deeper understanding of themselves, their
relationships with others, and their place in
the world. It involves asking questions such as
"Who am I?" "What do I believe in?" "What
are my goals and aspirations?" "What are my
strengths and weaknesses?" and "How do I
relate to others?"

Self-Perception Theory: According to self-
perception theory, individuals infer their own
attitudes, beliefs, and feelings by observing
their behavior and the context in which it
occurs. For example, if someone consistently
volunteers to help others, they may come to
see themselves as compassionate or altruistic.
