Introduction to Python Basics Maruf Farhan

Agenda Introduction to Python & Why It’s Important (10 mins) Writing Your First Python Program (15 mins) Variables and Data Types Simplified (10 mins) Interactive Coding Challenge with Kahoot (15 mins) Q&A and Next Steps (10 mins) This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-SA-NC

Tools And Setup Tools : Google Colab (Cloud-based Python environment) Interactive Tool : Kahoot for real-time quizzes and coding challenges to keep students engaged across time zones. Preparation :Students will only need an internet connection, removing the barrier of local installations. Students in different time zones can access recorded sessions and participate asynchronously through discussion forums. This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY

Using Kahoot for Engagement Objective : Make the session interactive, fun, and competitive using Kahoot.Quizzes will challenge students to apply Python concepts learned during the session. Why Kahoot? : It’s easy to use, engaging, and allows students from different locations to participate equally. Example Quiz Questions :

Overcoming Challenges of Time Zones Flexibility : All live sessions will be recorded and shared for students unable to join synchronously. Asynchronous participation: students can complete the Kahoot quizzes after watching the recording. Continuous Engagement : Ongoing discussions and code sharing on the course’s virtual learning platform (e.g., Canvas). I will personally monitor and respond to questions, ensuring students feel supported regardless of time zone.

Q&A and Next Steps Live Q&A : Real-time problem-solving and addressing student concerns for those who are present. Follow-Up Resources : Session recording, follow-up tasks, and links to additional resources like Python documentation. Ongoing support through a dedicated discussion board for continuous learning.

Monitoring and Supporting Student Progress Real-Time Feedback : During the live session, I'll monitor student progress via Kahoot, identifying common areas of misunderstanding. Follow-Up Tasks : Assign small coding exercises post-session for reinforcement. Review students' work and provide individual written feedback within 48 hours. Continuous Support : Encourage students to engage in discussion boards for peer-to-peer learning and ask follow-up questions. Provide additional resources tailored to the student's progress. Closing and Continuous Learning Session Summary : Recap key takeaways from the session, ensuring everyone understands basic Python syntax and usage. Provide links to additional resources for students to continue learning on their own. Looking Forward : Introduce the next session topic (e.g., control flow in Python) to build continuity in the learning journey. Stay Connected : Remind students about upcoming sessions, available recordings, and the importance of continuous practice. This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-SA-NC
