Successful Searching

Finding Peer Reviewed Articles

Depending on your topic, you may want to choose to search more than one EBSCO database at a time—such as Academic Search Premier, Criminal Justice Abstracts and/or International Security & Counter Terrorism Reference Center

Searching & finding government information Google: Type in your keywords (example: “crisis communication”, then type in site:.gov after the keywords)

Searching & finding information on think tanks Think tanks are institutions that generate public policy research, analysis and activity. Their output can include publications, reports, blogposts and journals.  They can be non-partisan or partisan, so you’ll need to pay attention to the goals of the organization when using the information they generate.
