4 Mathematics is defined as the science which deals with logic of shape, quantity and arrangement. During ancient times , the Egyptians used maths and complex mathematic equations like geometry and algebra. Math is a part of our lives, whether we clean the house, make supper or mow the lawn. Wherever you go, whatever you do, you are using math daily without even realizing it. It just comes naturally. Maths is a universal language in that it is a language understood in all countries
5 Math is one of the most crucial subjects for students. Almost every student studies math during their academic life. But most of the students usually ask about the importance of mathematics. It offers a way that is quite helpful for the students to understand the complex information. Even you can also find the importance of mathematics in our daily life. Every single moment of our life requires knowledge of math. But most of the students are not taking math seriously in their high schools. The reason is they don’t find mathematics quite interesting. Besides, teenage students find it annoying, as well as stressful. But math is crucial for them to get high paying jobs. Let’s get started on the importance of mathematics in our life.

7 A study done by Dr. Tanya Evans at Stanford University proved that the students who solve math problems in their daily life have higher logical skills than those students who don’t solve the problems. Apart from that, the students also solve math problems for their brain exercise. To make our bodies stay fit, we do exercise. In the same way, to stay our brain healthy and active, we need to do brain exercise. 1. Math is good for the brain
2. Math helps you with your finances 8 Math is also helpful with your finance. With the help of math, you can easily make your financial budget. You can calculate how much money you have and how you can spend your money. Almost every single human in the world uses math for their finance. The salaried person uses math to calculate their expenses and salaries. On the other hand, the businessman uses math to calculate their profit and loss. They also use it to calculate their loans and many more. It emerges the importance of business mathematics.
3. Math makes you a better cook 9 Math is quite useful for the cook. Because in almost every recipe, there is a need to put the ingredients. Such as one teaspoon turmeric, a tablespoon of garlic powder. As well as the half-cup of flour is the same thing as eight tablespoons of flour. Therefore to make anything delicious, the cook needs to know the perfect measurements of the ingredients. Apart from that, if the cook needs to cook food for many people. Then they need to know how much ingredients are required to cook food for those number of people.

BETTER PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS 10 Finding distance and length (Practical knowledge of Trigonometry) Maths concepts are used to find or calculate:- height of towers, mountains and tides in oceans distance of the shore from a point in the sea and between celestial bodies structural load, roof slopes, ground surfaces and many other aspects, including sun shading and light angles
5. EVERY CAREER USES MATHS Sports (Practical knowledge of Probability, Mensuration and Statistics) The mathematical concept can be applied when one wants to comment about the game. When we toss in game, probability is used as there is an equal chance of getting head or tail. Referees and coaches make calls which are based on time. We can compare failure and success rate by collecting data of all the past game played. This can only be done using some aspects of maths . To make the field of correct measure, we need good knowledge of Mensuration 11

GREAT CAREER OPTIONS 12 Navigation (Practical knowledge of Coordinate Geometry ) Concept is widely used while working with graphic designing software We often use it to navigate a city or to locate objects in a grid. When geo caching, we use latitude and longitude Astronomers (and amateurs) use sky coordinates to locate objects of interest.

GREAT CAREER OPTIONS (CONT’D) 13 Banking and Shopping (Practical knowledge of Percentage and Interest ) We visit supermarkets to buy items, purchasing decisions require some understanding of budgets and the cost Transaction of money Stocks and Bonds EMI, Loan, Interest paid on loan, interest paid by the bank, etc.

Symmetrical and geometrical concepts have been applied in the construction of some famous monuments such as Taj Mahal , Eiffel Tower etc Areas of differently sized and shaped lands can be found through the application of area formulas 'The Pythagoras Theorem' is used to measure of size for painting a building or finding the shortest route to a particular location
7. Math for Fitness Math helps us to maintain our exercise routines. Math is used to calculate short term and long term goals. It is used to measure our growth in fitness levels.

Learning Outcomes 18 Crafting (Meet ‘Bill’….) Each student will crochet an owl with the same specified dimension using a pattern, wool and crochet hook provided.
19 Before we stuff Bill…. Let’s find out an approximation of his area. Having flattened him, we can use the Trapezoidal rule to make an estimate of his surface area remembering to multiply the result by two for front and back. (Note: Ideally we would take a measurement of the curved surface rather than flat surface area.)
Here we have divided Bill’s flattened profile into trapezia, each of 10mm width.
21 Make Bill’s eyes and beak Measure and then cut out the required circles and triangle from a sheet of fel t. Area = ½ base x height Area = π r²

If we need to plant or sow new seeds or seedlings you need to make a row or count them out or even make holes. Measuring skills is always needed, and calculations of the essence when doing something new in the garden.

Math HELPS UNDERSTAND THE WORLD BETTER (CONT’D) Tailoring Making Skirts in different sizes (a) A very large Compass (or a piece of string secured at one end will do) (b) A calculator (c) A roll of cheap curtain material or old sheets that students have at home. (d) And some measurements. (e) Each skirt will have to be cut a different size and the calculations will have to be adjusted for each batch of sizes.
The skirt design is one circle inside another:
What size should the outer circle be? You need to know the intended length of the skirt, leaving an extra two inches for a hem. E.g. for size 10 the length without a hem or waist band should be at least 15 inches. If we add 2 inches for a hem, then the skirt length must be 17 inches. What will be the radius of the larger circle?
The larger circle will be 21 inches approximately Radius = 17” + 4.1” = 21.1” 4.1 17.0
Now pick centre for the circle and draw both the larger and smaller circle
