Review Subject Pronoun Verb “to be” Mr. Glauco Souza
Subject Pronoun
What are subject pronouns Subject pronouns are used to replace or refer the nouns. They are the subjects of the sentences. In portuguese, we called them: pronomes pessoais do caso reto.
Why are they important Sometimes a text without the use of subject pronouns could be very repetitive. Observe: This is my friend Clara. Clara is 27 years old. Clara is a great detective. Terry and Amy love puzzles. Terry and Amy are always trying to solve one.
Why are they important By replacing the nouns for subject pronouns we might make our text less repetitive and fluid . We could replace “Clara” for “She”. And “Terry and Amy” for “They”. This is my friend Clara. She is 27 years old, and she is a great detective. Terry and Amy love puzzles. They are always trying to solve one.
