What is the Verb TO BE? The verb 'TO BE' is one of the most important verbs in English. It is used to describe: - Who you are - How you feel - Your name, age, nationality, etc. Today we focus on: I and You.

Affirmative Form I am (I'm) You are (You're) Examples: I am Maria. Y ou are my friend. I am a student. You are happy.

Negative Form I am not (I'm not ) You are not (You're not / You aren't ) Examples: I am not sad. You are not my teacher. I'm not from Spain. You aren't late.

Questions Am I ...? Are you ...? Examples: Am I late? Are you a student? Am I your friend? Are you from Mexico?
