This sermon marks a major pivot in the Book of Acts, the transition into the final and longest section of the Book of Acts focused on the Church's mission to the nations. We will also see the dramatic shift in the fortunes of King Herod Agrippa I who opens chapter 12 by exercising his cruelty in killing the Apostle James and imprisoning Peter with the intent to do the same to him. This chapter will end with Herod using up his last chance with God who will bring him to a devastating end. We are reminded that although God is patient with evil rulers, there is a point at which He will wait no longer! God will not allow the devil to triumph over Jesus' Church and His people!
