Introduction The term “vocation” means an individual's development of talents and abilities in the choice and enjoyment of a career. Vocational Education and Training (VET), also called Career and Technical Education (CTE), prepares learners for jobs that are based in manual or practical activities, traditionally non-academic and totally related to a specific trade, occupation or vocation, hence the term, in which the learner participates. It is sometimes referred to as technical education, as the learner directly develops expertise in a particular group of techniques or technology . About Us Vocational education offers an alternative to traditional academic subjects, like the ones many young people take at A-level or degree level. 2
Vocational education is education within vocational schools that prepares people for a specific trade. It directly develops expertise in techniques related to technology, skill and scientific technique to span all aspects of the trade. 3

Scope Vocational courses focus on trade theory and trade practical training. 8 Vocational courses are an educational discipline that enables individual to acquire skills that are required for a particular trade . Vocational courses are traditionally non academic and are completely related to a specific trade, occupation or vocation. Vocational courses has diversified itself providing a wider scope for students after 10th standard. Status of Vocational Educational India has shown remarkable progress in the sector of education in recent times but vocational training courses are still not regulated in many schools. This has resulted in a major gap between the supply and demand of skilled manpower in the region. The shortage of skilled workforce has led to an increase in the number of unemployed labor in the country. In India, vocational training is provided as a part-time and full-time basis. Full-time training is typically provided to the Industrial Training Institute which is also known as ITI while the part-time programs are offered to the students at the board of State Technical Education. The vocational training in India has been only successful at the industrial level, that too at the engineering level. 9
