Harvard Referencing
What is referencing? Referencing is a standard method of acknowledging the sources of information you have consulted in preparing your written work. FAKE NEWS: Not all information is reliable, and for academic writing you need to be confident that your sources are credible and that the information is of high quality. An example of a source being of poor or unreliable quality would be Wikipedia. This is largely because it is user-generated, meaning anybody can edit or alter information.
EVALUATING RESOURCES The CRAAP Test (FESS/ETBI, 2019, p.20) ETB Referencing Handbook FAKE NEWS: Not all information is reliable, and for academic writing you need to be confident that your sources are credible and that the information is of high quality. An example of a source being of poor or unreliable quality would be Wikipedia. This is largely because it is user-generated, meaning anybody can edit or alter information.
Types of Referencing There are two types of Referencing that should be used in all academic Assignments, these are: In-Text Referencing This is short reference (normally the authors name and year of publication). This should be written next to any reference or quotation borrowed from another source or academic. Bibliography I n-text reference will guide the reader to the Bibliography where a full account of the source should be found. Different sources require different information but generally will include: Authors Name (Year in Brackets) Title of Book/Article in Italics
Introduction Main Body Conclusion In-text referencing
Bibliography

Bibliography Your Bibliography should contain every source that you can quoted from or used within the main body of your text. If you have used a source within your text, it should be included in your bibliography. If you have not quoted or used information but have looked at a source, you do not need to include them in your Bibliography. For a 200 word assignment, one or two references should be plenty.
In-text referencing In-Text Referencing should be used within the main body of your Written assignments. An in-text reference is really a directory for the Bibliography. By using the name of the author and the year of publication ( i.e Fallon, 2021), there should be enough information for the reader to find the source within the Bibliography.
