Human Factors ( Human – Tool – System , Interaction ) Alan David
Human – Tool – System, Interaction Human factors and ergonomics are concerned with adapting product to people, based upon their physiological and psychological capacities and limitations (Blum, 1952)
Product design is concerned with improving products from the point of view of mechanical, electrical and shape of the product it self for better physiological performance Study of the mind and behavior is concerned with human psychology Human – Tool – System, Interaction
Human – Tool – System, Interaction Point of Ergonomic is : deals with the interaction of the human and product in the work environment and their daily life Interaksi Manusia - Alat - Sistem , merupakan sistem dengan siklus tertutup dimana manusia akan menjadi “key factor”, karena keputusan untuk mengambil sebuah tindakan ( kerja ) secara penuh , berada di tangan manusia itu sendiri
Human – Tool – System, Interaction ERGONOMICS
Human – Tool – System, Interaction Indicators of Need for Ergonomics Attention in Product design and Work System Big number of repetitions Users are making frequent mistakes on the taks There are accidents or nearmiss on the tasks Too many requirements on the tasks Training time is unacceptably long Users are easily caught in fatigue Big number of complain
One reason is that users of these devices perceive the problem to be with themselves rather than with the technology. People often blame themselves when failing to comprehend the manufacturer’s instructions or when error occurs (Reason, 1990) Human – Tool – System, Interaction
Human – Tool – System, Interaction Solution to the problems raised in people interacting with technology come in two main forms: either to reduce demand or to increase resources in situations of work overload (Stanton, 2007)
