3. WHAT IS CO-EDUCATION? Co-education means the education of boys and girls in same institute. 3

4. History of Co-education:- 4 It was founded by John McNabb. The first co-educational institution of any form is Dollar Academy , a junior and senior school for ages 5-18 in Scotland, UK. The first co-educational college founded was Oberlin Collegiate Institute in Oberlin, Ohio. It was opened on December 3, 1833, with 44 students, including 29 men and 15 women .

5. WHERE WAS CO-EDUCATION INTRODUCED? 5 It was first introduced in Switzerland, but now it has become popular almost in all Europe and America. WHY WAS CO-EDUCATION INTRODUCED? Co-education was created to eliminate the difference between both the genders and make every human being equal effective regardless of their gender.

6. WHY SOME SOCIETIES SUPPORT CO-EDUCATION? 6 The supporter of this system favour the system mainly on two factors. .Economical factor. . Sociological factor 1.) ECONOMICAL factor :- Available infrastructure could be sufficient. No need to open separate institute on basis of gender. Good for under developed countries. 2.) SOCIOLOGICAL factor:- Boys and girls gain social maturity through valuable interactive play and shared learning in coeducation. Co-education eliminates gender based discrimination. Co-education allows young people to express their views openly.

7. HOW MANY PEOPLE LIKE COEDUCATION IN PAKISTAN? 7 79% parents do not like co-education. 16% prefer to send their girls to co-educational institutions. 5% gave no response. SOURCE SURVEY CONDUCTED BY GILLANI RESEARCH FOUNDATION.

8. WHY CO EDUCATION IS CRITICIZED? 8 Conservative people criticize the system of coeducation. According to them this system is against our tradition. They fear that coeducation will develop immoral relationships between boys and girls. They believe that this system will be spoil both the boys and girls. But these arguments do not hold much water.

9. ADVANTAGES OF COEDUCATION :- 9 In co-education both male and female perspectives will be explored in class discussions. It can enhance learning experience through different perspective. Spirit of co operation and healthy competition boosts up. Both gender get equal opportunities of learning .

10. DISADVANTAGES OF COEDUCATION:- 10 In co-education some of boys using slangs, abusing or taboo languages. It's very bad action and 2 one is when girls get less marks then any boys they are teasing or hooting them. Girls are losser then us. Colleges:- In co education mostly males teach to female students hat's why mostly female aren't comfortable to study in co education

11. DISADVANTAGES OF COEDUCATION:- 11 Parents:- There is a higher risk of harassment or assault for students of both sexes in a classroom setting.

12. Conclusions 12 For middle class girls and women the 19th century was a century of progress in education. Co-education is an excellent system which helps the students in almost all spheres of life. It is great for the all-round development of kids as it takes away the fear of interacting with the opposite sex. It prepares them for a world where they can effortlessly work in an environment filled with all kinds of people. Coeducation helps in developing confidence level.
