One of the goals of the K to 12 Basic Education Program is to develop in learners the competencies, work ethic, and values relevant to pursuing further education and/or joining the world of work. To achieve greater congruence between basic education and the nation's development targets, Work Immersion , a required subject, has been incorporated into the curriculum. The implementation of Work Immersion, which is a required subject for all tracks is severely affected during crisis situation, the limitations for learners and schools are recognized therefore DepEd took a proactive stance in anticipating and planning for various service delivery conditions and created the four work immersion schemes. Work Immersion Schemes Work Immersion Schemes The school shall provide a mock environment given the available school facilities, guided by the learning competencies, SHS learners will perform the activity In-School The learners shall perform their activities at home but will be monitored by the SHS teacher. This scheme is applicable only for learners with available materials, tools, or devices that can be used to demonstrate their competencies. The teacher will need to select the activities to be performed. Home-based The school shall arrange with the government and non-governmental organizations such as local government unit or private sector. The learners can participate in community development activities, and other relevant projects. Community-based The school and partner institution shall arrange the needed environment of learners provided that physical distancing is observed at all times. School and Industry Tie-up
Assessment: The Work Immersion Teacher and the Work Immersion Partner Institution Supervisor will jointly assess the learners' performance following the DepEd Order No. 8 s. 2015 (Policy Guidelines on Classroom Assessment for the K to 12 Basic Education Program).
