WHY ARE PAST TIME EXPRESSION IMPORTANT? We use ‘Past Simple’ to describe things in the past, hence, past time expressions tell precisely when did an event happen . He first won the Olympic gold medal when he was 12. She last competed in 1981. He was on this programme two years ago .
